Glen-L Boat Plans

Posted by J.R. Watson on 15 January 2009 | 9 Comments

Circumstances required that I have a dinghy; one that tows and rows well. I knew the limits of length and weight. I wanted a hard dingy and wanted to build it. So I snooped around at various designs. I settled on the stitch and glue version of the Sabotina design offered by Glen-L.com. I received the prints and patterns a few days later.

Their follow-up after the sale offering technical assistance was welcomed. I received their FREE Boatbuilding 101 e-book which, if you haven't built a boat before, is very educational. I also got their newsletter. They offer their own brand of epoxy but I opted for West System which is what I always use. The construction time and cost estimate was accurate and building instructions were crystal clear.

These are good people to do business with.

  • Thanks for the links. My brother has been a proponent of Glen's designs for years. I like a more traditional style, but I must say some of his designs are gorgeous, they really push the boundaries.
